Chronicles of Ylandre Book Five is out

Lady of the Quill
Cross Purposes is now available at Liquid Silver Books, Amazon and ARe (see links below) and will eventually appear on B&N, iBookstore, Kobo and Sony Reader Store. My apologies for this late posting. I've been down with a bad case of the sniffles, stuffed sinuses and headaches galore and haven't got near a computer until now. Talk about inconvenient timing. Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who pre-ordered my book—that was a huge boost to my morale which was pretty low the last few days due to my infernal cold. I'll try to get out another chapter of Prior Claim before too long and am working like mad on CoY Book Six. Maybe I'll manage to complete another book within months of a previous release rather than a year. It's worth a try. Meanwhile, I hope Cross Purposes lives up to expectations. Thank you one and all for all the support and encouragement.

I wanted to buy this book but I can't :( I loaded money on my paypal but the service stops my payment as a safety measure and I cannot pay no matter how try I hard (neither liquid silver nor all romance). I wrote them an email but they said it doesn't have anything to do with my account, it just happens. And I don't have a credit card. I feel so sad right now!! I was looking forward to this books for months! Checked your page for a year and even skipped a class to try to buy it. It's a pity I cannot read it :( Why do Kindle stores accept only credit cards T_T Thank you for your hard work! The cover is awesome too! :)

I'm sorry you've been frustrated in your attempts to buy the book. I hope the problem sorts itself out eventually.

Thank you for the encouraging words. And I'm very relieved you like the cover since I've already received a few negative comments about it. I guess that's only to be expected with a new artist and a change in style from the previous books in the series.

Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I noticed my style changed slightly in the writing of this book so it's a relief you liked it nonetheless.

The next book will feature Jareth Hadrana, Rohyr's ambassador cousin. And since it was pretty obvious in Sacred Fate who he had his eye on, I guess it's no spoiler to reveal that he'll be partnered with his aide, Yandro Vaidon. :)

I think I gave hints about both couples in previous books though Jareth and Yandro played important roles in "Sacred Fate." Actually, I couldn't make up my mind whose book to write first, but my eldest son made me realize I was in the mood to tackle the world of diplomatic relations (the world of Aisen that is). I know, it's quite ambitious of me. Writing a romance between warriors as will be the case with Ranael and Vaeren isn't any less challenging however so I can already imagine the stress I'm going to go through when I tackle that book next. *sigh*

Thank you for being so supportive. It's very gratifying to know people are reading and enjoying my books. :)

Hi Eresse,
Just stopping by to let you know that I am still rereading Cross Purposes and to see what comments other people have made.

I now have CP on both the Reader and the Tablet so am able to read it at work and at home!

Sorry to see that you have had some negative comments about the art work, I like the more vibrant colours and it is still very much in the same style as your other covers. It is to be hoped that people are more interested in the content of the book than in the cover!

Jareth and Yandro's story should be interesting, considering just how long Yandro has held out against Jareth! Given the hints in the first book,(sorry couldn't remember if it was Sacred Fate or Hallowed Bond! Maturing is the pits!) December would be a good month to aim for, holiday gifts etc!

Hope the sinuses are clearing them selves and you are feeling better.

Huggs,
Lynda

Hi Lynda, sorry for the late reply. I'm still under the weather though much improved from last week. It's lovely that you're re-reading Cross Purposes so soon.

I expected some negative responses to the cover considering it was done by a new artist. Though theme-wise it's similar, the artist's style is markedly different. It's more photo-realistic and some readers miss the "softer" illustrations of the previous covers. Someone even likened it to those icons seen in religious paintings. On the other hand, I've had some readers saying it's their favorite cover. It only goes to show that you can't please everyone.

Jareth and Yandro were introduced in Sacred Fate, hints and all. Their story is proving a big challenge in that I have to incorporate the world of international relations. It was hard enough in Hallowed Bond which only touched on the diplomatic corps. In Fine Form will go more deeply into the whole thing. Makes me wonder what got into my head to include ambassadors in my lineup of MCs. As to whether I can get out the next book that soon, well that will depend on whether I don't get saddled with another case of writer's block.

Thank you, Thao. I'm glad you enjoy CoY. I'm writing as fast as I can but it's quite impossible to churn out books given the amount of detail that goes into each story. But I will try to write another short or out-take in the meantime. Is there any particular couple/idea you'd like me to tackle or expound on further?

Hi Eresse

I only found out Cross Purposes was out a couple of days ago. For some reason your LJ posts don't show up on my friends page. Grrrr...

Anyway, I downloaded it onto my kindle and read it on the overnight train journey back home from my brother's. What a great way to end a holiday! Congratulations on another highly enjoyable book. I love the universe you've created for your Ylandre tales and I can't wait to read the next. I'm glad to see you're publishing Jareth and Yandro's story next. Next to Keiran's story, it's the one I'm most looking forward to.

Thanks Naledi. I'm glad the book provided you with some entertainment on the way home. And feedback like yours encourages me to go on with the series. Jareth and Yandro's story is already proving a challenge to write and I'm not even midway with it. I expect Keiran's book will be the same if not more so. :)

Review
I was unhappy with the way the relationship developed this time. But that only proved that I loved your writing and characters enough to be emotionally disturbed on how they chose to interacted with each other.
My favorite of all the books is still Sacred Fate. It was a mesmerizing book. I don't know how many I've reread it up to this date. ^_^
I thoroughly enjoyed your writing style and eagerly awaits your next one. No rush because masterpieces doesn't produce themselves overnight (with some exception of course).

Re: Review
Keosqe made me want to snuggle him for being so earnest. Tristen is so blinded to his own feelings and stubborn about certain things, it made me so frustrated with him that I just want to take a big chomp out of him so that he'll see what is in front of his eyes ::laugh::

I have read all your books and 'Cross Purposes' was another delight on the list. I absolutely -love- your writing style!
Lately I have been going through some rough times, but reading your stories always cheers me up.

Can't wait for the next one to come out!! <3

Big hugs!

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your Ylandre series and thank you for another superb title. I wanted to leave a review on Goodreads but didn't see the title, so I just left the review on Amazon here. If you decide to post your titles on Goodreads, could you let me know to add the review there as well?

Looking forward to the next title!

That's wonderful! I'm not sure why I couldn't find it when I typed in the title in search field for it. I knew I'd seen it on goodreads before. I'd reviewed the other titles on goodreads but thought perhaps you'd removed them for some reason. Glad to see they're there. My review's cross-posted there now. :)

Re: take out
Hello there,

Strictly speaking, out-takes are scenes or sequences filmed or recorded for a movie or program but not included in the final version. So in terms of my books, out-takes are scenes or chapters I chose not to include in the final draft. I have only one out-take posted so far and it can be found and downloaded at http://eresse21.weebly.com/out-takes.html.

Aeldan is the older brother of Ashrian, one of the protagonists of Heartstrings. He has been involved in the family enterprises since leaving university, takes his role as heir apparent seriously and is patient and dutiful as well as less promiscuous than Ashrian. He is hazel-eyed and dark-haired.

I hope I've answered your questions adequately. :)

Regards,
Eressë

Re: loving the new artwork!!!!
You're very welcome. I'm glad you like the new artwork. I confess I was worried about how different it is from the previous covers and there has been some negative feedback. So it's reassuring to know others like it. I hope you enjoy Cross Purposes and that it lives up to your expectations.

Warmest regards,
Eressë
